I am running CDE under DU 4.0. I am starting an application from my
.login when I log in. When I do a similar thing with Solaris' Openwindows
the the messages that the application prints to standard output get
put to the console window. In CDE the messages don't go to the dxconsole.
Is there a way to make that happen? Alternatively, can I prevent dxconsole
from running and run "dtterm -C" as my console window (this is what
Solaris Openwindows does)? I tried to do this, but I can't figure out how
to disable dxconsole. Is there a resource file somewhere that causes it to
start up? I can't find one. If I run "dtterm -C" without disabling
dxconsole a error message appears on dxconsole: some complaint about not
being able to open /dev/console a 2nd time.
Any help is much appreciated. I will summarize.
Thanks,
Mike
