Hi All,
Can anyone clue me into a couple of messages I am getting.
Firstly I am getting the following in my messages file.
Dec 2 09:44:43 mymachine vmunix: fd failure: No media in drive
This is a new machine with only a couple of users on it at the moment.
Can any-one tell me of a way to track down who/what is trying to
write to my floppy drive. I dont have any accounting procedures
implemented at the moment, but will if its needed.
The users swear its not them , but if not , then what ??
Secondly the following appears in my syslog.dated/date/user.log file
Dec 2 16:57:40 mymachine syslog: libtt[27310]: ttdt_Xt_input_handler():
tttk_messa
ge_receive(): TT_ERR_NOMP^INo ttsession process is running, probably
because tt_
open() has not been called yet. If this code is returned from tt_open() it
means
ttsession could not be started, which generally means ToolTalk is not
installed
on this system.
I am a relative Unix newbie and so have no idea how to interpret the
above.
The above message also appears at strange hours eg: 03:30 , 09:30 , 16:30
Both these messages aren't urgent , but just peak my ineterest.
Thanking you
