Webmasters? Summary...

Several die hards out there just use a text editor and write in the
HTML codes by hand. vi and emacs were mentioned.

A few suggested Netscape Gold, which is what I'm using now, but it
doesn't support a lot of things, and if you add them in, and reedit the
page, you lose all the manual changes. It's nice to get the basic
layout though, or for simple pages.

A few suggested asWedit, available from;

However, I find that on my system, the colors it wants are not there
and I get pull down menus and dialog boxes which are white on white and
all text is invisible.... If the colors worked it seems like that would
be a good tool as it supports a *lot* more HTML than Netscape Gold.

Several people use cross platform development, building the pages on
Win 95 or Mac and then serving from an Alpha.

Thanks to all who responded.
