DAT tape drives

Dear all,

Many thanks to all those that replied to my recent message concerning
external DAT drives for Alpha workstations running Digital Unix.

The concensus was that the DEC drives (TlZ06, 07 and 09) generally
work fine. Of third party disks, the Hewlett Packard HPc1533A and
HP35480A both work well and have no problems connecting out of the box
to an Alpha running Digital Unix. One person, however, has had
problems with HP drives giving up just after the warranty period
expired!

Regards,
Bruce Graham
