Hello Managers,
Let me fist say that I have found this list to be indispensable for
dealing with Digital UNIX related problems. The answers I get here are
generally quicker and more accurate than those from DEC's own support
organization.
Having buttered you up, here is my question: Does anyone know of a
similar resource for managers of Alpha[Station|Server]s running Windows
NT?
In addition to my previous responsibilities as a UNIX SysAdmin, I
(along with a couple of my co-workers) have inherited a lab that is
running 1/2 DU and 1/2 NT on a total of four AS2100A's. The DU side is
no hassle and right now the only thing causing us grief on the NT side
is Mac filesharing.
We are looking for answers to our problems in the area of large-scale
Mac file sharing on an Alpha running NT, but are starting to feel like
bastard children. MS doesn't do much in the way of Alpha support, DEC
doesn't support 4.0 (upgrade was done before the hand-over), and
neither seems to have much experience in the area of serving a couple
hundred Macs.
I'm hoping that there may be a similar, targeted, mailing list out
there that deals with managing Alpha NT systems. Have any of you come
across such a beast?
Thanks in advance,
Tom
