Telnet Printing on DU4.0b to HP5M

I was reading the release notes for DU4.0a and I ran across a mention of
DU now supporting input and output filtering to remote printers. It
doesn't support standard LPD but it does support Telnet printing.
Since my HP5's with JetDirect cards all support telnet printing I though
I'd give it a try.
I setup a new printer with 'lprsetup'. It gave me the following
'/etc/printcap' file...

hplj5m|lp0|test:\
        :af=/usr/adm/lpacct:\
        :if=/usr/lbin/hplaser4psof:\
        :lf=/usr/adm/lperr:\
        :lp=_at_oa-test-15.t.sheridanc.on.ca/9100:\
        :mx#0:\
        :of=/usr/lbin/hplaser4psof:\
        :pl#66:\
        :pw#80:\
        :rw:\
        :sd=/usr/spool/lpd:\
        :xf=/usr/lbin/xf:

It all looks straight forward to me. Each time I print a text file to
this queue using 'lpr -Ptest text.txt' I get a 'core' file in the
'/var/spool/lpd' directory.
Anyone give me some pointers?
BTW, I can telnet to the printers 9100 port and paste text files, which
print okay.

thanks in advance.

later.
