Apparently, those files are coming from an ancient upgrade in the 3.2x
era. First version installed has been 3.2C (if my memory serves well).
It has been upgraded several times. It seems that it's safe to remove
them. They (the files) haven't been making troubles, it's just nice to
know what's what on your disks.
