table is full

Hi, Managers

We are running a digital DEC 3000 osf/1 v 1.2. We have a problem. This
appeared in the messages.

vnode: table is full

7451: /bin/mail: /sbin/loader: fatal error:canot map libc.so

7450: /bin/mail: /sbin/loader: fatal error:
                 cannot map libc.so

 Can anyone help me out?
 Any explanations as to why I got this error and how to prevent in the
 future?.
