SUMM: Polycenter scheduler alternatives

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone had found a viable alternative to DEC's
Polycenter Scheduler product, as they dumped it and CA has taken over. From
our past experiences with CA, and considering the kind of support we have
had from them since they took over Scheduler, CA Unicenter is definitly out
of the question. It would require a MAJOR rewrite of our software anyway,
so we will use something else instead.

I received a LOT of suggestions regarding NQS (or variants like DQS,
COSMOS) and we will evaluate this product. It's licensed under the Free
Software Foundation and it is used by many Universities accross the world.
Most people suggested a lot of links to this software but I found the
following to be the most "official" site. If anyone can confirm this,
please say so.

http://www.shef.ac.uk/uni/projects/nqs

The only problem I found is lack of PostScript or Acrobat Reader
documentation. You have to wade into page after page of HTML to print the
documentation. They are in the process of releasing a complete set of
documentation tough...

Other options were (Did not look into those options):

        - Control-m (No web site mentionned in the suggestion)
        - Platform Computing's LSF (VMS style queues I think)

Hope this helps and thanks for the many replies !

NOTE: Any input or pointers from people who implemented a solution with NQS
would be appreciated. You can e-mail me the info if you wish.
