Hello,
I have some trouble with a couple of Alphas any input is welcome

The configuration :

W1:
Alphastation 255/300
Digital Unix v3.2G
64MB of memory
3xPowerstorm 3d30 PCI (PBXGB-AA) graphics controller
Firmware revision: 6.2

W2
Alphastation 255 4/298
Digital Unix v3.2G
128MB of memory
2xPowerstorm 3d30 PCI (PBXGB-AA) graphics controller
Firmware revision: 6.2

For both workstations the following apply:
Running Open3D v3.4
Using NFS Automount against 2 Alphaserver 1000A (Alphaservers exporting
to W1 and W2)
Running heavy MMC software who gets data from the Alphaservers via NFS

The problems (applies to both machines):
1. Sometimes (not often) it just freezes, no input possible, no network
no nothing. Machine is totally dead.
2. Sometimes (not often) the network dies. The machine works but there
are no contact with the rest of the network.
In both cases the machines have to be powered off (not just plain reset)
to get them to work again.

I have succeeded in provocing error 1 by running heavy scrolling in
different terminal windows (over the network) while stressing the
X-environment (frequent windows change, opening X-apps and soforth),
however I dont always succeed in making the error happen this way.

On W1 we have tried changing the motherboard to no avail.

I realise this isnt much to go by, but before I increase my investigation
I would like to know if someone have experienced something similar or
have any idea where I should start looking.
