The most common way to go around this problem is to rename the
/var/adm/wtmp file into something else and then touching it (touch wtmp)
-- to create a new one... and that did the trick.
Also, here are the permissions for the utmp and wtmp files.
-rw-r--r-- 1 root adm 5148 Mar 16 11:17 utmp
-rwxr-xr-x 1 adm adm 462540 Mar 16 11:17 wtmp
