RAID controller reliability questions

Has anyone here ever had problems with DEC-distributed KZP's on alphas
-- including failures, erratic operability, etc.?

Likewise, if anyone has found them to be quite reliable over an
extended period of operation, or in extreme conditions such as an
extended failure of the cooling system -- please send me a sentence or
two to explain.

I need to get a better picture of controller failure probabilities to
design a reasonable plan for various system catastrophes.

If I get enough responses, I will post a summary to this list.
