What is a k_map_wire panic?

Dear Alpha managers,

What is a k_map_wire panic? This causes infrequent crashes
of several of my Alphastations 255/300 systems. The crashes
are non-reproducible and totally unpredictable. The users report
doing nothing unusual and the system load is low.
