xemacs fonts - descender chars. (g,p,y) wholly above the line

Hi.

The xemacs 19.15 readme (README.alpha-dec-osf3.2) states:

The default fonts on Digital UNIX might present descender characters (g,
p, y) wholly above the baseline. If this happens, try adding the
following X resources to your ~/.Xdefaults file:

  Emacs.default.attributeFont: *-courier-medium-r-*-*-20-*-*-*-m-*-*-*
  Emacs.italic.attributeFont: *-courier-medium-o-*-*-20-*-*-*-m-*-*-*

After adding the X resources, remember to activate them with:
  % xrdb -merge ~/.Xdefaults

xrdb confirms this:

$xrdb -query | grep -i emacs
Emacs.default.attributeFont: -*-courier-medium-r-*-*-20-*-*-*-m-*-*-*
Emacs.italic.attributeFont: -*-courier-medium-o-*-*-20-*-*-*-m-*-*-*
aharon$

I did that, but it didn't help - at least not in gnus windows. Has
anyone else had this problem ?

TIA.
