We have a draft proposal from Digital with the following items on it, all
for our 4100 Alpha with DU on it:
QL-5RGAG-AA NSR HSM License
QL-04WAL-34 Polycenter NSR Jukebox 3 Software Product
Descr: 50.98 Concurrent
Use License
QL-YUNAM-3B Polycenter Networker Archive Server Add-on
Module
Descr: 50.98 Concurrent
Use License
We raised the question whether we might not need an NSR server license for
the 4100 and Digital's reply
was: "The Networker Save and Restore (NSR) Base Server License is included
free with the Digital UNIX Operating System," and so what was on the draft
proposal will be all we need.
That sounds good of course, but since a visiting Digital guy told us it
is common for Digital itself to have problems putting the NSR licensing
pieces together and since another Digital guy on the phone told us
informally he wasn't sure but had the feeling this was not all the pieces, I
want to ask anyone who might know for confirmation that we will really not
need anything other than the pieces ordered to support this functionality
(rather find out now than later).
I will summarize. Thanks in advance.
