Tape Problems

Hi,

I am trying to restore a "TAR" archive - which incidently is quite big - approx. 1GB.
However, an error message appears after a few minutes which states
"Offset.. no space left on device". I have tried many different tape drives and also other "backup tapes" - they are all giving the same error message. Could someone please offer some advice.
