NETWORK TIME SERVER

I want to setup a Network Time Server on a digital unix machine.
I want this to synchronise our local machines with machines on other
parts of the globe. I understand somebody broadcasts the time-signal
and if we have an RF equipment, we can receive those signals and then
synchronise our machines with the world-wide time-server.
Any-one who has such a setup, please furnish me the details of
what type of RF equipment is required, what is the operating frequency
of the broad-cast message.
Right now I have configured one of the machine as the
local-time-server.If I configure this machine as the time-client to
this broad-cast server signal, will the setup work...? Is the idea
correct....?
Is any hard-ware interface required on my alpha system...? if so
what is the hardware.........?
     Many many thanks in advance
