Hello,
My original question was:
In our system, pop3 users too often produce /var/spool/mail/username.lock
I put a command at crontab which removes these lock files at everynight.
But this does not solve the whole problem.
Do these lock files appear because of our pop3d? Should I install a new
and better one? I've heard about qpopper but in INSTALL file the writer
does not suggest the use of qpopper in NFS environment.
Our system uses both NIS and NFS environment. Is there any pop that runs
without problems?
Thanks in advance..

Thanks to the following people who responded to my question:

Carlos A M dos Santos <casantos_at_cpmet.ufpel.tche.br>
"P. Godwin" <pgodwin_at_phad.den.mmc.com>
They all suggested to use qualcomm's qpopper.
I installed qpopper v2.2 and the problem seems to be solved.
Thanks.
