Hi All ,
Can I change the "fstype" in the disk label to reflect
what I am using that partition for.
I would like to label my sybase raw partitions so as I
can easily see what database they are being used for.
Thanks to the people who replied.
Basically the answer is yes , but no for what I wanted.
You can use the disklabel -s to add the following fstypes :
unused, swap, 4.2BSD, ufs, UF, AdvFS, LSMnopriv, LSMpriv, LSMpubl,
LSMsimp, database or raw.
I thought I would have been able to directly edit the label and add
an fstype of eg: paydb (to identify the payroll database).
Unfortunately the system is too smart and wont let you do it.
You MUST use one of the above types.
Thanking you ,
