Thanks to all whom responded, there are way too many to post. Several
good suggestions which i'll note here.
mount -r /dev/rzxc /cdrom UFS CD
mount -r -t cdfs /dev/rzxc /cdrom iso9660 cdfs CD
mount -r -t cdfs -o noversion /dev/rzxc /cdrom iso9660/cdfs CD w/o versions
mount -r -t cdfs -o rrip /dev/rzxc /cdrom iso9660 w/ Rockridge Extensions
After removing the existing CD-ROM which was a Matsushita and replacing
it with a CHINON I was able to both detect and mount the cdrom. With the
Matsushita the system when mounting would respond with an I/O error.
