Raid410 questions

Hi all,

I apologize in advance for sending this to both mailing lists, but
since It's a DEC product (Raid410) on a Solaris 2.5 system, I wanted
to see if either group had a real answer.

Currently we're running a Raid410 with Dual SWXRC-04 controllers, with
the V27Z-2 HSOF firmware. We'd like to upgrade to the newest release,
which is V3.1, but according to the spd (53.54.10) we need to make
sure that our HSZ40 controllers (I think just another name for the
SWXRC) is either a -Bx or -Cx model. When I access the controllers
through the console and do "SHOW THIS" and "SHOW OTHER" I get the
following:

    swxrc-top> show this full
    Controller:
            SWXRC-04 ZG44700413 Firmware V27Z-2, Hardware A02
            Configured for dual-redundancy with ZG50600783
                In dual-redundant configuration
            SCSI address 6

    Host port:
            SCSI target(s) (0), Preferred target(s) (0)
    Cache:
            32 megabyte write cache, version 2
            Cache is GOOD
            Battery is GOOD
            Unflushed data in cache
            CACHE_FLUSH_TIMER = 15 (seconds)
            CACHE_POLICY = A
            Host Functionality Mode = A
    Licensing information:
            RAID (RAID Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
            WBCA (Writeback Cache Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
            MIRR (Disk Mirroring Option) is DISABLED, license key is INVALID
    Extended information:
            Terminal speed 9600 baud, eight bit, no parity, 1 stop bit
            Operation control: 00000004 Security state code: 36758
            Configuration backup disabled

    swxrc-top> show other full
    Controller:
            SWXRC-04 ZG50600783 Firmware V27Z-2, Hardware B01
            Configured for dual-redundancy with ZG44700413
                In dual-redundant configuration
            SCSI address 7
            Time: 17-APR-1997 14:58:27
    Host port:
            SCSI target(s) (0), No preferred targets
    Cache:
            32 megabyte write cache, version 2
            Cache is GOOD
            Battery is GOOD
            No unflushed data in cache
            CACHE_FLUSH_TIMER = 15 (seconds)
            CACHE_POLICY = A
            Host Functionality Mode = A
    Licensing information:
            RAID (RAID Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
            WBCA (Writeback Cache Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
            MIRR (Disk Mirroring Option) is DISABLED, license key is INVALID
    Extended information:
            Terminal speed 9600 baud, eight bit, no parity, 1 stop bit
            Operation control: 00000004 Security state code: 67835
            Configuration backup disabled
    Other controller restarted

I see that I'm shown to have hardware A02 and B01 respectively. Does
this mean I need to upgrade the A02 controller to the Bxx or Cxx
hardware version before I can run the V3.1 HSOF software?

At this time we don't want to upgrade to the Raid450 controllers, we
don't need the performance.

Thanks for any and all help.

John
