G'day Sysadminers,
I have been asked by a customer to do a capacity projection for their
servers for the next 12 months. What makes it a bit difficult is that the
customer wants me to project on applications that have yet to be
written!
I fired off a question to Digital, BUY SOFTWARE was the answer!!!!
What I am after is a methodology/guideline for applications running
on Digital UNIX, something like this:
(trans. complexity) simple medium complex
1 tier x% y% z%
2 tier x% y% z%
3 tier x% y% z%
We manage AlphaServer 2100 (dev) & 8200 (prod) ....I have tools to monitor
the existing performance & capacity its just the "Nostra Damus" bit I'm not
quite sure of.
TIA, Craig
