[Q] Configuring sendmail

Dear Managers,

We have been trying to configure sendmail (5.65v3.2) to send
messages coming from a domain, x.y.z, to have the line:
"From: user_at_x.y.z", regardless of the machine which sent the
message.

We could configure sendmail so that this is what happens
if mail is sent from any machine in the domain, *except* from
the mail exchanger. In this case, mail is presented as being
sent from "user_at_machine.x.y.z".

It was suggested that we use a newer version of sendmail
(8.8.5), but it requires a new library and headers (db.h instead
of the old dbm.h), and we could not compile the new one ok.

Is it possible to configure [by hand], sendmail.cf so that
sendmail presents the "From" line without the machine name?

Thanks in advance for any help,

   Felippe
