Hello,
I want to add some more things to my question below:
We do not use C2 security. We use NIS.
I checked the qpop for some users as follows :
telnet localhost 110
user username
pass password
for some users it says OK. You have .. mails.
for some users it says The password supplied is incorrect.
Thanks again.

Subject: qpopper problem
Followup-To: poster
Hello Managers,
I recently obtained qpopper2.2 and installed it to our UNIX server.
At first I didn't notice any problems. But then some users complained
that the pop server did not accept their passwords. We changed their
password and successfully telnet to their accounts. I mean there is no
problem with the passwords.
This problem occurs for only some of users, the majority has no problem.
Our system:
Digital Unix v3.2c
using NIS and NFS environment.
When I read INSTALL document, there are some comments about authentication
database (/etc/pop.auth). In our system there is no such file.
In make.osf1 file the following CFLAGS are defined:
CFLAGS = -DAUTH -DBIND43 -DHAVE_VSPRINTF -DOSF1\
-DAPOP=\"/etc/pop.auth\" -DPOPUID=\"pop\
Should I remove -DAPOP=\"/etc/pop.auth\" entirely?
In our system every user may use pop.
What can be the problem? Any hints will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance..
Zehra Soysert.
