stale file handle of NFS server.

Greetings.

        Dear Managers,

        We have one Alpha station DEC 3000/500 as NFS server and several DEC
3000/300 stations as NFS client. All stations work under DU3.2D-1. The
server exports five (5) 2Gb disks, and all these disks can be mounted by
all client stations in the network. The kernel log file (
/var/adm/messages ) contains plenty of messages like
        " Apr 25 09:28:26 nnnnnn vmunix: RFS3_READ, client address =
###.##.##.##, errno 22
          Apr 25 09:29:15 nnnnnn vmunix: NFS server: stale file handle
fs(8,3074) file 237949 gen 861838746 " .
        What does this message mean? How can I get rid of the cause of this
message?
