Battery backup or UPS

HI ALL ,
        The above system has a dual power supply , one of which
        is plugged into a UPS. My question is , do I really need
        the battery backup for the KZPSC write-back cache or
        is the UPS sufficient protection. Does the battery backup
        have any advantages over the UPS.
