Hello,
Anybody know if you can have comments between continuation lines
in a printcap entry e.g.
# Digital DECwriter III LA120 printer on serial console port
la120t:\
:af=/usr/adm/la120acct:\
:br#9600:\
:ct=dev:\
:if=/usr/local/bin/fred:\
:lf=/usr/adm/la120err:\
# :lp=/dev/tty00:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:mx#0:\
:pl#66:\
:pw#132:\
:sd=/usr/spool/la120:
On my DU 4.0B - lpc status la120t says printer is on /dev/tty00 even
tho' it is apparently commented out !
Now my moan about print filters ...
DU 4.0B and earlier come with a "/usr/lbin/epsonof" print filter which
lprsetup kindly sets as your print filter if you configure an "fx" type
printer.
lprsetup then goes on to ask if you want to capture printer accounting
data ... unfortunately "/usr/lbin/epsonof" does not do accounting!
Worse for us epsonof does not honour the page length parameter neither!
Digital says they have no plans to include these functions in epsonof !
i.e. keep buying our LG series printers we include fully functional
filters for these - tho' no sign of lg08of or lg12of yet !
