The summary goes like this:
almost all of them said one doesnt need a disktab entry for
adding a new disk. and the m/c should be able to create one by
itself by querying the disk.
and this worked fine for me.
what i did is...
# disklabel -z rrz[n]c
this is to zero or delete the existing disklabel
if any.. where n stands for the scsi id
# disklabel -rw rrz[n]c barac
this looks up the /etc/disktab to see if there
is any entry against barac. barac is some name
we have given arbitarily. as there is no entry
this will query the disk for its geometry and
create a disktab by itself
and then the usual newfs stuff
some of them suggested to use RZ29
that also works well.
