The original question was "why advfsd is using more than 90% of the cpu?"
It's a known bug and there is no correction available but just workarounds.
The daemon is useful only with the advfs GUI.
2 solutions are given :
1) On a regular basis stop and start the daemon by :
/sbin/rc3.d/S53advfsd stop
/sbin/rc3.d/S53advfsd start
2) stop the daemon by /sbin/rc3.d/S53advfsd stop and start it only before
using the GUI.
