3rd party graphics cards?

Hello,

   We're in the process of purchasing a few alphastations. We
will be running DU 4.0x. We are depressed by the cost of the DEC
graphic cards. We would like to use a third party card.

   We would like:
                 1024x768 (maybe also 1280x1024)
                 24 bit color
                 reasonable performance
                 reasonable cost, $100-300
                 compatible under DU 4.0x

We have heard of Number Nine, any other Brand/models?

Any recommendations, suggestions, pointers, ...
