First, thanks to everyone for their fine advice. With tech support
and Erik Persson's advice I removed the entries that I had for routed
and entered a static route instead. All worked well after that.

Erik's reply:

> If your routing needs are restricted to finding your way out through a
> default gateway, you don't need routed. Look att the "static routes
> file" settings instead and add the default gateway there.
