My original question:

|Can you do an iostat on drives behind an HSZ40, e.g. iostat rza16 ?
|
|If not, is there any other way to measure the I/O ?

iostat can't deal with LUN's on an HSZ40. It can deal with rza16, say, as
that is the same device as rz16 (LUN 0). However, for the other LUN's iostat
falls flat.

Then solution seems to be to get a copy of a "modified" version of iostat which
will do stats for other LUN's (thanks to Randy and Kurt) or get a copy of
monitor:

A modified iostat (called uaio) to give this info and more from:
ftp://raven.alaska.edu/pub/sois/uaio.v0.7.tar.Z

Monitor can be found at:
ftp://gatekeeper.dec.com:/pub/DEC/monitor.alpha.tar.Z
