SUMMARY: How do I interrupt the boot process and get an SRM> prompt?

There are several methods that were recommended by several people. On some
DEC machines the reset button will bring you directly to the SRM> prompt.
On my AlphaStation 500/333 the thing that did the trick was to type CTRL-P
when the machine was coming up.
