I would be grateful if someone could tell me the formula for calculating TOTAL
number of processes allowed on my system based on paramers tuned in
/etc/sysconfigtab.
Does it work the same way as in param.c (NPROC = 20+8 *MAXUSERS), so that I
can just increase maxusers in /etc/sysconfigtab? or are there some other
parameters I should set? My 'System Tuning and Performance Management' manual
states that maxusers affects the maximum number of processes allocated for the
system, but it does not say in what way.
I want to increase the max number of total active processes allowed on my
system preferrably without rebuilding the kernel.
