My company is proposing the AlphaServer 8400 to a client who requires an
enterprise server for a mission-critical customer information system
application. Just like to get some suggestions from this list re a
suitable configuration for a single node 8400 system that would meet the
following requirements (at minimum cost) :
1. The system must be capable of running a minimum of three ORACLE 7.3
databases concurrently.
Database size: 50GB per database
No. of concurrent users 2500 per database
2. The system should be able to handle a minimum of eight thousand
concurrent user transactions with worst case response times under
two seconds 90% of the time - Minimun TPM-C: 8000
3. The system should have 4Gb of memory Minimum
4. The system should be 100% scalable in performance without requiring
a box change
Any information or ideas on this would be appreciated.
