Q: Unresolvable symbol

Hello everyone!

I've installed Oracle Express Server V5.0.1 on our DU V3.2 (that's right:
V3.2 without any extensions) and as I try to start the server I get the
following error message:

28279: /disk5/ofaadm/code/mdbserv: /sbin/loader: Error: unresolvable symbol in
/disk5/ofaadm/code/mdbserv: __yp_match_flush

28279: /disk5/ofaadm/code/mdbserv: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: this executable
has unresolvable symbols

Oracle support says it's a symbol defined by the operating system (they think
that yp_match_flush is related to yellow pages, but I don't think so.
Oracle support couldn't answer when I asked them what Oracle Express Server
would
need yellow pages for). Digital support says the symbol is defined somewhere
by Oracle...

I'd like to get the software working - is there a way to find out what value
that symbol, yp_match_flush, should have and where it is defined?

TIA!
