can't get stderr port: Operation would block

Hello Managers,

on a mailserver under heavy load we are now quite frequently getting
messages like the following:

Jun 9 11:42:29 mail1 rshd[21157]: can't get stderr port: Operation would block

Has anyone else seen this message and what can we do to remedy the
situation? Is there some kind of resource shortage that can be cured by
tuning or reconfiguration?
