Remote file distribution

I have a question with respect to file distribution around a few servers.
I need to have a few core important files distributed from a master server
to two client servers. What is the best method of doing this. The three
files are the group file, the password file minus the encrypted passwords,
and the alias file.
I was thinking of running NIS(YP) but I would rather not since all I need
is file distribution.
I have heard of rdist, but never used it.

thank you in advance.
