Hi Managers!
I have a strange situation here. One of my users is experiencing problems
with receiving mail. Sometimes, if more than one message is sent at a time,
he only receives one (and it is not consistently in the order in which it is
received). Even more strange, I sent him several test messages, checked his
/usr/var/spool/mail file, (actually looked at it, to be sure all messages
were there) and called him. He was out of his office, and returned my
message about a half an hour later. He looked both in Unix mail and in Pine
mail (we allow the choice right now as we transition) and both packages said
he had zero messages! So, I checked his /usr/var/spool/mail file again, and
lo and behold! his mail file was GONE. He assures me that he had NOT deleted
any mail from me since we spoke originally.
He is going to change his password to make sure that no one somehow got his
password and is causing problems for him, but in the meantime, has anyone
experienced anything like this?!
He also tells me that some of the mail which he has been sending out has not
been received ... when adding that into the equation, does it ring a bell
for anyone? Help! We've checked everything!
Curiouser and curiouser ... but I guess that's why we all enjoy this
business so much!
Sheryl
