WARNING: Alpha-OSF-Managers information and policy statement

**WARNING** The following line:

    SGI info-iris-admin ask info-iris-request_at_arl.mil

can be an evil thing. It took me a couple months before I got a reply to
actually get on this list. Now I get around 140 info-iris-* messages a day
(no exaggeration). The list maintainer told me to expect 30-ish. Multiple
requests to info-iris-request_at_arl.mil and postmaster_at_arl.mil to get me off
this list have been ignored. The info-iris-* lists are the same as you would
get from reading the comp.sys.sgi.* newsgroups. I would advise people not to
subscribe directly to these lists unless you are a "professional" gluton for
punishment (as apposed to the gluton for punishment who gets less then 1000
total mail messages a day).

The other OS specific lists mentioned are all reasonable though, and if you
have those systems, are quite helpful.

(And, if any of you know the maintainer of the info-iris-* list, could you
kindly ask him to drop "rsw_at_glue.umd.edu" from any list he owns, as he
apparently gets too much mail to keep up with....)

Trying to save you alot of grief,
Randall
