After finally resolving the problem I had with the video card in my
Alphastation 255, I began thinking "how can I prevent this from
happening again?". You see, all of my problems stemmed from the fact
that I ordered an "identical" machine, but got one with a different
video card. How do I know they won't change some other component
next time and cause another problem? Any ideas on how I can insure
that when I order an Alphastation 255 it will be exactly the same as
the last Alphastation 255 I ordered?
This also brings up a related question. We use our AS255's as the
platform for a medical imaging device, and as such, we are regulated
by the FDA. We are required to do acceptance testing on all of our
components, but we have been unable to find any suitable software for
doing this type of testing on our AS255's (at a reasonable price).
Does anyone know of any diagnostic software for Alpha systems? For
example, for our Intel systems I beleive we use a software package
called "CheckIt".
Thanks,
Mike
