problem with rdump

I have two identical Alphas running Digital UNIX 4.0b. I have an 8mm
Exabyte tape drive in one of the Alphas and I'm trying to use rdump
to do remote backups. When I do this, however, I get the following
error:
rcmd: socket: Permission denied
rcmd: socket: Permission denied
rdump: Cannot establish connection to remote rmt command
rmthost(): rcmd(): Permission denied
Terminated

rdump works fine from a Sun box to the Alpha with the tape drive. It
also works fine from AIX to DU. Why won't it work from DU box to DU box ?
