Dear Gurus,
Since I installed DU4.0B my VXT2000s refuse to boot through joind.
I finally managed to install an Infoserver, which solves the problem.
However, I still don't know why this happened. I include the answers
from John F. Marten and Michael Matthews. I could not test if things
would have gone better after having installed the obsolete bootpd.
Thanks!

John's answer:
i have a application that needs bootpd. copy the line in your inetd.conf
that has bootps(joind), then comment one of them out. then replace joind with
bootpd :
bootps dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/bootpd bootpd
now, copy /usr/opt/obsolete/usr/sbin/bootpd to /usr/sbin
then make the appropriate entry in bootptab including a bf= for an extended
bootfile if applicable.

Michael's answer:
bootpd isn't in /usr/sbin any more. It's in the obsolete set:
OSFOBSOLETE410.inv:0 65536 32863 3 4 100755 11/15/96
410 f ./usr/opt/obsolete/usr/sbin/bootpd none
OSFOBSOLETE410
