Dear Gurus,
I am here facing lots of problem with EtherWorks card in Alpha 2000/500AXP
which
running Digital OSF/1 3.2G as our Internet Mail Server. Problems are as
follows:
1) Occasionally I received following **ERROR** on dxconsole.
------> ln0: lost Carrier : Check connector
To solve this problem we have done few things like
a. First we change the RJ-45 cables
b. Change the the EtherNet Card (Same model, EtherWorks).
But no improbment, so please let us what should we do to overcome this
problem.
2) We also facing problem with our DAT TLZ-07 Tape Drive. As per the
Digital's Manual on
DAT. We clean the Drive, reboot the machine. But when we try to write to
Tape using
#dd if=/etc/hosts of=/dev/rmt0h
We can see following message
4+1 record in
4_1 record out
dd close error : I/O Error
3) Recently I found that SIA records is lost from the Operating System. As
I don't have
backup the File System (/, /usr). It will be very helpful if you write me
what I should do
for SIA. I mean what I should backup and restore if I don't login as root.
Thanks in advance,
