Hello managers,

my question was, why my new 9 GB wide-scsi disk IBM DCHS39100W doesn't
show up at the console prompt (>>> show devices)

The answer seems to be, that there are at least 2 possibilities
for a scsi-disk to be "configured": for use with a PC and for use
with Digital (/Unix?). Obviously we had a PC-like disk.
Our distributor told us, that he has to install a new (firmware?)
for our Dec-equipment... (that's not yet done...)

(So SCSI is not like SCSI anymore? And who is the one that has violated
the definitions/standards?)

With regards,

Bernt Christandl
