format of /usr/sys/conf/SYSTEM

I'm trying to change a number of system limits which cannot be set
dynamically with sysconfig. From reading the man pages for config,
sysconfig, and doconfig, I believe that what I need to do is to edit
/usr/sys/config/<MY-SYSTEM-NAME> and run doconfig. Alas, I cannot
figure out how to set values in the configuration file given the names
by which sysconfig describes them. I do have the pertinent section of
the System Administration guide; I lack the System Tuning and
Performance Management guide.

All of the things I want to change are in the proc and ipc subsystems.
To get me started, could somebody please tell me how I would set, for
example, the shm-max limit in the ipc subsystem? I'd appreciate it
greatly.
