What does this mean: "no timer interrupt on CPU 0"

Hi,

After a severe crash today my EB64+ board running Digital Unix 4.0b
(with patch kit #4 applied) says:

** no timer interrupt on CPU 0 **

in the initial bootup messages right before the kernel is started.

The system seems to behave normally but the message somehow worries
me.

Any explanation anyone for that?

Thanks -- Tom
