f77: warning: __sqrt4_tab as GLOBAL RCONST and GLOBAL OBJECT

We are getting the following message from our f77 loader.

Warning: __sqrt4_tab defined as GLOBAL RCONST but is defined in a shared lib as a GLOBAL OBJECT

We are running Digital UNIX V4.0B with the following subsets.

Digital Fortran RTL #374 for Digital UNIX Alpha (f90 and f77)
Digital Fortran 90 V4.1 for Digital UNIX System
Digital Fortran 77 V4.1 for Digital UNIX Alpha Systems

I suspect that the message may be ignored. It looks like one piece of
code is treating a variable as a constant, which is probably safe.
However, we would like to confirm this. Can anyone confirm or deny
this or simply explain the message? Better yet, can anyone point me
to a reference explaining all the messages produced by the loader?

Thanks,

Paul Fardy (technical support, C&C, MUN)
