Thank you all for replying to me so fast. I am sorry to say that the
permissions and the domain name and the format of the .rhosts file were
correct. I have also changed securetty file to have an entry with
various ptys (or just ptys). However, it still does not work, I forgot
to mention that I am running Linux on my system here.
I think that if I do not get it going I will just use NFS and launch a
cron job to mirror 2 directories on the file system.
However, that may present a problem, since my superiors want to have 3
machines that will be acting as home dir. servers on the alternating
days, that means that I will have to remount the actual hd. partitions
onto other dirs. while the current machine is not acting as a server.
I think, that they should use just one machine as a server, but hey I
can not convince them.
