Atom/third degree works! (if compiled with -g1)

After checking the on-line help, I modified the makefile to use -g1 in
the compiling and linking steps. I was able to get Fuse Heap Analyzer
to work on this version.

I still think that failure with the programe compiled with the "-g2"
flag should not have failed in such an uninformative manner.
